Fishing Friday

The flood waters are receding and X has been catching lots of fish! The first day he put a hook in the water, he caught 16 "perch" and "blue gill" (all small).

And speaking of fish....Maha saw my blue chicken potholder and wanted to know if the book had a fish potholder. It doesn't, so I am trying to come up with a pattern, as we didn't seem to be able to find a good fish potholder pattern online. This is what I have come up with so far.........

What do you think? I think it may be a little small, I used an F Hook (maybe I should have used an H?) The "eye" isn't really on the fish yet, but I didn't want him to look so unfinished for the photo shoot. I'm thinking make another side, crochet him together, put some cute facial features........ and ta da! Anyway, Happy Friday!

Sorry for the multiple comments...I didn't notice after the first post the note that tells me that my comment will be visible after the author approves it; I thought it didn't go through. Sorry again!

No problem. I had a problem when I first started my blog receiving weird messages, so now I "screen" first. I just deleted your duplicate comment. Anyway, what do you think of the fish? I took the top fin back off (I'm going to re-work that part), and I want to come up with some cute features for it before I post the pattern. There was also a cute fish over at www.withahook.com/blog. Julie, who has that website, found a fish washcloth pattern on Ravelry, but I haven't been invited to that site yet. I asked Julie if she can get Vikki to post that pattern on her blog, too. Let's hope!

I really like it. It's a general fish shape, so you can use different colors to make different looks. It looks absolutely adorable as a clown fish. My MIL's kitchen is blue & green, so if I did it, I might just make a generic fish. I think the fin on the top is cute, but I can't wait to see what you come up with. I am in awe...
